William was born on August 29, 1957 to Bishop Willie James Carr, Sr. and Annie Marie Carr in Norfolk, VA. One of 12 children, William’s love for his family was at his core. William spent his childhood learning carpentry from his father. At the age of 16, William entered the window business, beginning his lifelong career that led him to starting his own commercial window installation company. A self-made entrepreneur, William was devoted to his craft, and proudly led his son, brothers, nephews and family within the window business.
If windows were his craft, golf was his passion. William was able to play on golf courses around the world, including Cyprus, Paris, London, Greece, Costa Rica, and all throughout the U.S. His family’s annual men’s golf trip was something he looked forward to every year.
William proudly called South Jersey home. William worked and sacrificed his entire life so that his children could be afforded every opportunity available. William was also a man of God and a man of faith. He greatly enjoyed gospel music and his weekly Bible study.
