Patrick J. Mahoney
On June 4, 2024, of Washington Twp. Age 23. Cherished son of John and Jennifer (nee Brogan). Beloved grandson of Mary Brogan and the late Donald Brogan, and Jack Mahoney and the late Patricia Mahoney. Loved by aunts and uncles Don and Kristen Brogan, Patti Mahoney, Suzanne and Chuck Hunt and Joanna Brogan. Missed by cousins Rachel Tucker (Jim), Connor, Jack and Alicia Brogan, Maggie and Corey Hunt and welcomed into heaven by Abby Burr.
A graduate of Washington Township High School (2019), Patrick received his Associate’s Degree from Rowan College and his Baccalaureate in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Patrick read voraciously and never left home without a book “just in case”. He loved facts of all kinds and was an encyclopedia of in-depth, yet random knowledge. Two H.S. culinary arts courses awakened a love of cooking and he enjoyed making dinner for the family 2-3 nights per week, often trying out new recipes in the numerous cookbooks he read like novels. Patrick loved babies and small children and was referred to as the “baby whisperer” in the family. His brother John was his mirror twin and closest friend. While John’s love for his family was outspoken, Patrick’s was quiet yet constant. He always ensured we all were okay. He was a unique, thoughtful and loving young man.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday 6:00-9:00PM and Wednesday 10:30-11:30AM at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp 08012. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00PM. Interment, All Saints Cemetery, Newfield. In lieu of flowers donations in Patrick’s memory may be made to Food Bank of South Jersey (foodbanksj.org).
