Mary Jo Godio was a loving soul. She was a devout catholic, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and even a great-great-grandmother. She had been through many health complications throughout her life, but her love for her family and friends gave her the strength to always fight on. Even through her treatments and pain she never missed an opportunity to indulge in the niceties that life had to offer. Many of her favorite things included her cup of tea in the morning accompanied with a bowl of oatmeal, devil dogs, watching Phillies games, her constant remodeling of her room, chocolates and candies, connecting with friends (and sometimes strangers unintentionally) on facebook, sitting out in the sun, going out for a day of shopping, stopping to talk to every baby or child she came across, telling everyone she met about her family and many more. However, nothing was more important to Mary-Jo than holding her rosaries and saying her prayers every single day. She went by many names and titles but she will always be remembered by everyone as our beloved Gram.
Family and friends are welcome to attend her visitation Monday 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at The Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Chews Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
