On November 3, 2017 of West Deptford. Age 85. Marcelo is the beloved husband of Lucille Alicea (Byrd). Devoted father of Mary Jane Swope, Patricia Alicea, Michael Alicea, Theresa Alicea and the late Brenda Uff. Loving grandfather of Janine, Jacqueline, Richard, Andrew, Krystyna, Nicholas, Peter, Teresa, Joseph, Tiffani, and Michael. Proud great -grandfather of Angelina, Gianna, Antonio, Tyler, Allison, Aria, Trevor, and Tanner.
“Marcelo was the kindest, most gentile soul. Always a hard-working man who would do anything to provide for his family. He had four beautiful daughters and one handsome son who blessed him with 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and he loved them all equally. He always wanted to do things for himself, and never needed to ask for help. He knew what he wanted and how he wanted things to be done (and when he wanted it done). He enjoyed scratch off tickets, his handheld slot machine game, and watching football and baseball.
You would always find him with his flannel shirt, jeans, and slippers sitting outside, enjoying the weather, or by the TV enjoying a nice fire. He was a simple man who valued family above all else, and wanted nothing but the best for all of his children. He always saw the best in everyone, and never said an unkind word about anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but he will never be forgotten.”
Marcelo’s life will be honored and remembered privately by his family.
