Louis J. Ciccone passed on September 4, 2022 in his Washington Twp. home at age 80. Beloved husband of the late Denise (nee Yoast) and the late MaryAnn (nee Kawczynski). Devoted father of John Ciccone (Gina), Kristin Ciccone Gole (Samir), and Katie Ciccone (Adam Dezii). Loving grandfather of Ashlee (Jared Burke), Haylee, Karlee, Elena, Hudson, Nico, and Victoria. Dear brother of Dominic Ciccone (Karen) and Christine Vassalotti (Michael). Loved by nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. He died at home, surrounded by his family, on the 40th wedding anniversary with his wife Denise, who died three years earlier of cancer.
Lou started his career in the warehouse of RCA Camden and then worked for General Electric for over 35 years, first programming computers, and later moving into sales. He was a man who cherished his family, traditions, and memories; who told stories and debated politics for hours. With a Beefeater martini and a plate of pasta, he was most happy in his home. He and his wife Denise were the glue of their community, and Lou was lovingly known as “the mayor” of the Trail. Every Sunday he and Denise would welcome anyone and everyone with open arms and meatballs or chicken cutlets.
Lou had an encyclopedic knowledge of history, pop culture and sports. He would recite facts from almost any period, with a special place in his heart for World War II and the Roman Empire (whose army was fueled by lentils). He loved cooking, going to the casino, Phillies games, emailing the writers of the Philadelphia Inquirer with his opinions on their articles, and telling stories about his home in Camden. Lou ended all of his worldly advice with, ”but what do I know, I’m just a dego from Camden.”
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 8:45 – 10:15 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at The Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Washington Twp. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or www.cancer.org.
