Loretta S. Allonardo
On June 28, 2022, of Philadelphia. Age 91. Beloved wife of the late Anthony, Jr. Devoted mother of Anthony Allonardo, III (Janet) and Loretta Contino (Joseph). Loving grandmother of Nicholas (Kendra), Joseph II (Julia), Francesca (Christopher), Alexa, and Anthony IV. Dear sister of Salvatore Castorina and the late Dorothy Garro. Loved by many nieces, and nephews, and their families.
Loretta’s husband, Tony (Junior to the family), was the love of her life. After a serendipitous meeting at her cousin’s house, they ended up spending 50 marvelous years together and mothered two wonderful children and five grandchildren. After his passing, she solely focused
her love on her family and friends.
Nothing was more important to Loretta than spending quality time with her family. Fun family trips and vacations to Disney World, California, New York and more packed her calendar and she adorned her refrigerator with magnets from her travels. Her phone-line was always busy as she frequently checked in with the activities and accomplishments of her loved ones – never too bashful to share her sometimes brutally honest yet helpful opinions.
She was also a prominent socialite around her home town of South Philly. Always active in her community she was an Associate Nun at Sisters of St. Joseph’s, a beloved member at St. Gabriel’s Church, and a champion bocce ball player. She was often found galivanting with her
girlfriends around town to the movies, restaurants and much more.
Loretta leaves behind a blueprint to living a complete life on your own terms to the absolute fullest, and a legacy of love, compassion, humor, affection and a fondness for fun. She had a positive influence on everyone she’s met during her 91 glorious years. So, please take all the
love you have from her and for her, and share it freely with the world. She’ll look down upon you, happy and proud.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Saturday, August 6th, 9:30 – 10:30 am at St. Gabriel’s Parish, 2917 Dickinson Street, Philadelphia. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am. Inurnment, New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in Loretta’s memory to The Sisters of St. Joseph, 701 Germantown Avenue
