Joseph Campisi
On January 31, 2019 of Washington Twp. Age 88. Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Ciallella). Devoted father of Cheryl Campisi and Cynthia Campisi. Loving grandfather of Christopher (Ashley) and Stephen (Andrea). Dear brother-in-law of Ann Campisi and Anthony Ciallella (Linda).
Joe was born on November 8, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pa to his parents, Anthony and Catherine Campisi. He was the youngest of three children having an older sister and brother. After graduating Joe followed his parents and worked in a tailor shop for ten years. In 1955 he married Joan Ciallella and together they enjoyed a happy and loving 62-year marriage.
They raised two daughters together. Joe’s second career was in retail managing a center city high end shoe store for over 20 years. When the family moved to New Jersey in 1971 he continued to work in Philadelphia while also being involved in many social activities in his new neighborhood. Joe enjoyed horse racing, football and the casino.
Perhaps the greatest joy in his life were his two grandsons Christopher and Stephen. He was always involved in their lives from birth, and benefited from everything they did including never missing a little league game or school activity that they took part in.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 7:00-9:00 pm and Tuesday 9:30-10:30 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to Vitas Hospice, 522 Fellowship Road, Suite 110, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
