On June 7, 2016, of Washington Twp. Formerly of Paterson and Fairlawn, NJ. Age 89. Beloved husband of 49 years to the late Anna (nee Lavorgna). Loving son of the late Lena and Ignazio Puglisi and dear son-in-law to the late Mary and Louis Lavorgna. Devoted father of Darlene McBride (William) of Turnersville. Loving grandfather of Melissa (Tony) and Amanda (Jim). Proud great-grandfather of James. Dear brother of Anna Mania (the late Bill), Lucia Longo (the late Peter) and Angelina Avola (the late Salvatore). Also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
John worked at Paterson Textile Mills and later at Travel Elementary School in Ridgewood, NJ as the head custodian. The Family would like to thank all the staff at Kennedy Health Care Center for their wonderful care and loving support.
Relatives and friend are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 9:15 – 10:45 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment Monday 12:00 PM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa Borough, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Arrangements are under the care of the Egizi Funeral Home, Washington Twp. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.egizifuneral.com.
