Janice L. Gorman (nee Wichlatz), on August 1, 2023, of Washington Twp. Age 71. Loving mother of Christopher Gorman (Nicole) and Kyle Gorman (Melissa). Cherished grandmother of Alexa, Matthew, Avery, and Colin. Dear sister of the late Wayne Wichlatz.
Janice served as a school nurse for over 25 years in the East Greenwich school district. Having this career allowed her to spend quality time with her family during their formative years. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors spending time gardening and tending to her flowers. As an avid doll collector, Janice was able to travel extensively attending conventions and making new friends along the way. In retirement, Janice was able to continue her love for traveling, including a trip to Greece with one of her closest friends. She also enjoyed vacationing with her family. Janice never missed an opportunity to create memories with her grandchildren while they experienced new things. She was filled with pride while watching them flourish in music, sports, and their education. Janice set an example for her family to appreciate time together, continue to create new memories, and live life to the fullest.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Monday 10:00 – 11:00 am at The Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:15 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society by clicking on the link.

Knowing that my dear friend is at peace and no longer suffering is consoling but it does not ease the heartache I feel. Meeting her 53 years ago at UB was truly a blessing! We shared our lives from college life, marriage, raising children, and most recently grandchildren. Jan was always a true friend, we shared laughter and tears over the years. I will miss her dearly and cherish her memory always! Sending my love to you and your families, Aunt Bev

Many times my family got together with Janices family for either a party, barbeque or card game. Janice would hang out with my sister Judy and I would hang out with Wayne.

Your mom was a very special lady, always so sweet, kind and caring and a joy to be around.

Janice (aka Mrs Gorman as I knew her) was one of the most influential people of my childhood. Kyle was one of my best friends and so I spent a lot of time around her growing up and she was always there for us, nurturing us in a way that was always fair and patient. She was influential in our success in becoming Eagle scouts and just showed a level of support that you wouldn’t always expect from another person. For this, she will always be remembered as a very lovely and spiritual person and although it’s been some time since I’ve seen her, her energy lives on, partly through me. God bless Mrs Gorman, and may she rest in peace amongst the eternal rose pedals.
