Jim was a wonderful person, always calm, very helpful, funny, friendly and hard working to get it done! We often chatted about the children. He was a true joy to work with and I will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I know Jim from the Tech Center. While I don't remember how we initially met, I know for years to come, he always had his kind smile ready for me, when we passed in the halls. Jim's gentle presence was a welcome moment in my days. I'm finding it hard to imagine returning to work without the chance of seeing Jim in the hallways; he never rushed by, he was never preoccupied...when you saw Jim, he gave you his whole presence. My heartfelt condolences to the Ogilvie family; he spoke so highly of his boys and I know his family was everything to him. Rest in Peace, my friend.

My dearest sympathy goes out to each and everyone of you. I recently loss my dad and I know the pain you all are feeling, but know that our God gives us comfort and strength during these most difficult times. I met Jim in September of 2018, we became team members for the Classification Team and our "long-distance" friendship grew from there. I was glad to have the opportunity to see him back in March at our Team Meeting in Oklahoma City, every morning we would have breakfast together, along with some of the other team members. We laugh about work and personal lives, it was like a family reunion. It was a pleasure to have known such a wonderful, kind-hearted person. I really enjoyed working with him and tapping his brains for answers, when I couldn't figure something out. The news broke my heart and he will be dearly missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

There is no doubt that Jim will be missed at the FAA WJH Technical Center. I can count on one hand the most sincere, compassionate, thoughtful, accessible, and friendly people, that I’ve interacted with in all my years at the FAA. Jim was certainly in that count. Knowing that Jim interacted with a great many people, I was impressed that he remembered my name from our first conversation forward. Jim wasn’t hung up on titles nor anything else. He didn’t treat you nice because of your position at the Center, he treated you nice and was genuinely interested in you as a person. That is just who Jim was, kind and genuine. I looked forward to seeing him in the main building. His greeting had its way of lifting me, letting me know that we’re more than a bunch of people reporting to the same place to work. Jim portrayed a real and tangible caring for people, he was the human side of the FAA. It’s rare that folks on the job can make you feel like you’re more than employee #123, but Jim took the time to do it. We should all carry the spirit of Jim with us, making the world a much kinder and gentler place. I am better off having known Jim, we all are. Rest well my friend, until we meet again.
Angela Moore left a message on December 22, 2020:
I had the pleasure of making Jim's acquaintance in the main hallway of the William J. Hughes Technical Center. He smiled and warmly said hello, and I reciprocated but received a kind energy in the exchange. Years later I would have children in the Little Flyers Academy and talk with Jim about matters pertaining to childcare. He was humble and attentive as we worked through what would be best for the children. From that point on we always made small talk and swapped pleasantries at work if our paths crossed. He shared some of his challenges but never complained. Yes, he was a kind, gentle, friendly man who was always so. My sincerest condolences to the Ogilvie family and those who loved Jim.
Tamara Lefebvre left a message on December 22, 2020:
Jim was the most humane person I have ever met. He will leave behind a legacy of kindness, warmth and profound caring for all who crossed his path. I can’t imagine not seeing him in the halls of the Tech Center. My heart and prayers go out to Jim’s family. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed.
Pam left a message on December 22, 2020:
I am so sad to hear of Jim's passing. I have known Jim since my son started at the Little Flyers Academy many years ago. He was such a kind and gentle man. As the years passed we would look forward to seeing his smiling face and welcoming greeting as we passed in the halls. He would ask about our family and our son. I will miss seeing him. So very sorry for your loss.

So many remembrance, condolences proceed my moment to offer in kind words. Jim was truly a humble, sincere, encouraging, diligent co-worker and friend. To know Jim was to know you would receive a smile on any day you encountered him. Who could not say that maybe they strolled by HR on a given day to perhaps pass Jim in the hallway....just because you needed a smile and dear "Hello" from him. The world was blessed with Jim's presence and as for all of us, our Lord will tell us that "it's time to come Home. Your job was well done". Well done Jim!! I thank God for your walk on this earth. My condolences to your family and they shall be in my prayers for healing of heart. Their forever love and honor for you shall fill the void, as time passes by. God Bless you all.

My heart aches to hear this news. Mr. O was one of the good (GREAT) ones who was never without a smile, was one of the kindest people to ever exist and had a huge hug that you felt down to your soul. The choir of angels gained a member on their A team. Sending my love and prayers for comfort and peace for the entire family.

Dear Jimmy O, You brought light, love, wisdom, and a sense of humor to us all. I cherish your support, satire, and friendship all these years. Laughing with you about the DPSC EAP days to the FAA EAP days just shows me the hand of God and soul groups who are meant to cross paths for experience, strength and hope in the service of others, with levity along the way. I will deeply miss you though we will meet again. Blessings and thank you to your family for sharing you with us.
