I’m so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories of Aunt Ella. I loved listening to her tell stories. I don’t remember the content, just the Philly girl voice and sass as she told them! I was mesmerized by her beauty and her flawless makeup. I don’t think she needed it, but she nailed it nonetheless. By far what I remember most about her was her happy family. I know sometimes it’s not fair to see a mom just as a mom without considering her interests outside of her children, but something tells me she wouldn’t have minded. She and Uncle John raised an amazing group of kids. I’m happy that you had her for as long as you did, but I also know that it’s never enough time with someone so precious. My heartfelt sympathies to you all. Thank you for the macaroni and cheese recipe!! I’m going to try to make it tonight! I’ll be thinking of you and Aunt Ella! Love Carolyn

My deepest sympathies to you all. It was so wonderful to see you last night. Thank you for supporting my dad in his grief in the loss of his sister even though you were in more profound mourning for your mom. He needed those hugs. I hope it helped you in some way to know how much Aunt Ella was loved by all of us.
Jean Koch Norris left a message on June 16, 2021:
Cousins, Kathy, Mary, Rick and Maureen and the entire family, My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you the peace that you seek. May my condolences bring you comfort and may my prayers ease the pain of this loss. Yes, Aunt Ella was an excellent cook since I recalled that she made delicious turkey gravy for Thanksgiving dinner at her Oak Valley home. I thought it was the best gravy ever. And, I am thankful that she gave me the old pictures of our great grandparents since she knew I was doing the genealogy work. Rest in peace eternally, Aunt Ella. You will be missed. Love, Jean Marie

To my cousins Kathy, Mary, Rick and Maureen, so sorry for your loss. I’ll always remember your Mom (my godmother!) as being very stylish and a wonderful cook/hostess. My Mom loved her Mac and cheese! My Dad still talks about how “Ella got the brains!” She will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
