My dear friend where to begin. You were so full of life, laughter, and inspiration to everyone who knew you. You fought hard and strong and always stayed positive through your battle. I am so thankful that I was able to come visit you and share wonderful memories and laugh together! I will forever cherish the special gift you gave me and it will be displayed in my kitchen over the Christmas season! But more so I will cherish your memory and the friendship we shared and all our talks and fond memories of high school years. I know that you have gained your wings in Heaven and the Lord has welcomed you HOME with loving arms. Until I see you again, I love you with all my heart and miss you so much! Love, Felicia Barber
To speak of the kind of person Dawn was, she had never even met me, but our sons played tennis at school. I had a kidney transplant, and she brought food over to us!! Such was such a sweet and lovely person!!!
Dawn's Celebtation of Life Memorial Service:
Hello everyone, I am Dawn's Aunt Taf, and on behalf of my sister, Lois Davis, Dawn's Mother, and my other sister, Aunt Bun, Dawn's children, Sharon and Wayne, and the love of her life, Jan, brothers + sisters, and other Family members, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for coming to celebrate Dawn's Life!
My niece, Dawn Marie, Dawn, as most of you knew her as, Dawny, as her family called her, and of course, Tiny Dancer, was a wonderful perosn who embraced life.
She was my niece, however, she was a very close and dear friend as well. I know that you will all agree, that her beautiful, sparkling blues eye and joyful smile, captured each and everyone of us. She was full of joy, strength and hope, even to the end. Her two most precious things in life, were her children, Daughter, Sharon, and Son, Wayne, She loved them both unconditionaly. Dawn loved her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, who called her GM. They always put a smile on her face. She loved spending time with her Nieces, Amanda and Jessica, and Nephews, Jimmy and Kyle, catching up with her cousins, and keeping in touch with her close friends, Kelly and Gloria, just to name a few.You all hold a special place in her heart!
A few years ago a special man came into Dawn's Life. Jan, you were the most recent light of her life. You gave her such Joy,Love, and Hope! I know that Dawn cared very deeply for you sons, and wife Dawn. Dawn was very Happy to be Mrs.Jan Miller! Butterflies were very significant to Dawn and her niece Amanda. The night Dawn passed away, the Hospice Nurse came wearing scrubs with butterflies on it, and her name was Amanda! It was just her time!!
Reat in peace my Dear Niece. We Love You To The Moon And The Stars!!!!!!!! You will never be forgotten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You will always be my tiny dancer. There are so many memories that we have shared, the smiles, the tears, the joys of being your friend have made me a better person. Thank you for the gift of your friendship. You were so brave in troubled times and are an example of someone who left this earth with dignity. Love you forever, until we meet again.
