Chui Y. Louie “Ming”

Ming Louie (nee Leung), formerly of Springfield, PA and Sewell, NJ, passed away February 27, 2024, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Tong S. Louie. Devoted mother of Henry Louie (the late Constance), John Louie (the late Ann), Mabel Geerken (Ken), Lana Lim (Michael), and Allan Louie (Kwan). Loving grandmother of Caitlin (Alfonse), Nicholas (Melissa), Christopher, Kristina (Chris), Lindsay (Josh), Diana, Michael (Karyn), Pamela (Dan), Jessica, Laura, and Kate. Proud great-grandmother of Maribel Grace, Dominick, Adam, Kara, and Cameron. Loved by nieces and nephews.

Ming was born in Canton, China on October 2, 1926. She came from China to the United States in 1948. She worked hand in hand with Tong in the family laundry business, while raising her five children. She enjoyed cooking for many barbeques and holiday gatherings at their home in Springfield. She enjoyed going to the casinos, watching the YouTube Chinese soap operas, but most of all, spending time with family especially with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. At 11:00 AM, there will be a time for family and friends to share thoughts, prayers, memories, and love. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamstown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ming’s memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church, 915 Vine St., Philadelphia, PA 19107.
