Anthony J. Paolini, Sr., on February 1, 2018, of Williamstown, formerly of Pennsauken. Age 78. Beloved husband of Barbara Ann (nee Forte). Devoted father of Anthony, Jr. (Emily), Donna Cooney (Bob), Thomas “Tuck” (Donna). Loving grandfather of Alexandria (Sal), Anthony, III, Alexander, Julianna, Abigail, Bobby, Tommy, Kyle, Jenna, Thomas, Jr., Bella and Catie. Proud great-grandfather of Luigi. Dear brother of Joseph (Carol), Bobby (Jo Ann), Richie (Annette), Eddie (Nancy), Frankie, Josie Spino (Gerry), Ann, and the late Dolly Costello, Louis, Sal and Johnny. Also survived by his sisters-in-law Lucy and Joanne and many loving nieces and nephews.
One of 12 children, Anthony was a true family man from birth. A man of few words, his actions spoke volumes when it came to the love he had for his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchild cherished adventures to the movie theater and the way he would endlessly tease them, which always ended with a loving smile and hearty laugh.
Anthony’s warmness was masked at times by his stern exterior. Saddled most of his adult life with health issues, he somehow overcame them – probably due to his overwhelming desire to surround himself with his wife, Barbara, three children and the adored grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Weekends were consumed by church and breakfasts, as Anthony and Barbara were considered diner connoisseurs. His passion for the Phillies and vacationing only slightly rivaled the love for his family, though his limited wardrobe grew tenfold with Phillies paraphernalia after winning the World Series in 2008.
While the patriarch of our family may no longer be with us, we will feel his love and passion through the Phillies, diners and our ever-expanding family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Viewing Wednesday 7:00-9:00 PM and Thursday 8:15-9:15 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, Washington Twp. Entombment, Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road 2nd floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.
