Aimee Jo Girard, on August 10, 2014, of Gloucester Township. Age 26. Beloved daughter of Mark Girard (Veronica) and Virginia Girard (nee Stuart). Loving sister of Danielle Lee Girard and Brittany Lynn Girard. Devoted granddaughter of Marian Stuart and Mary Louise Girard. Dear goddaughter of Deborah Girard.

Starting to describe Aimee Jo Girard is like choosing a nail polish for your mani/pedi. You don’t know where to start because there’s a huge variety of beautiful colors that you really can’t go wrong with any choice. Each color is unique and vibrant, perfect in each way. So, what do you do? You choose one for now and then change it the next day and then the next and you keep mixing it up because you appreciate every single color, you’re not afraid to mix in something new & different into your life, and of course, each color looks fabulous on you. And this is how Aimee approached life (before and after her stint as South Jersey’s best nail technician) with complete open arms & an open heart.

Not only did she have such an appreciation of life, but Aimee also had an unwavering spirit for all experiences she had, no matter how big or small. From picking out the perfect pair of earrings for a night of twerking while Beyonce played in the background to carefully caring for a patient at Jefferson Hospital, she approached everything with a smile and an enthusiasm that was infectious to those around her. Aimee’s beaming personality shed a warm light to everyone that surrounded her. Like bees in a garden, people gravitated towards her instantly. Her undeniable beauty, her enormous heart, her genuine soul (and don’t forget that one of a kind laugh) were all recognizable and present in each encounter she had. People admired her; people appreciated her. She was Timber Creek’s Homecoming Queen, she was that suffering patient’s savior. Aimee was simply a gift to all those lives she touched.

And it didn’t matter with whose life; she was always able to connect with each person no matter what walk of life. If a person rocked Jordans and got down to Jay-Z or if that person was the quiet book worm prepping for the NCLEX in the library or if that person spoke a completely different language, it did not matter because Aimee could relate with anyone on any level. Chances are she had that same pair of Jordans in her closet (even some Baby Phat jeans she rocked with those cornrows back in the day) and she already put in 8 hours studying for the NCLEX the night before while speaking Vietnamese to owner of the Pho shop she visited for dinner. And those Jersey girls down in Atlantic City? Don’t worry; she was there with them last weekend downing shots of Jameson in her 6-inch heels with DJ Chuckie on stage (her SJ routes never faded away). Aimee was undoubtedly an unique individual with that love of everything in life, which is so rare to find. She was someone you would never want to part with because she was always the life of the party and always a true friend, completely sincere and authentic at every moment. If time went by and your paths separated, she always left a lasting impression in your heart.

This zeal Aimee had was so remarkable because it never faded. And her kind ability to uplift all those around her to brighten any day and to pass along pure positivity was a blessing so many people were thankful for. After fighting for her life just a few years ago, Aimee was a pillar of strength and the epitome of “carpe diem.” Nothing could hold her back from achieving all her goals. Nothing could get in her way of chasing her dreams. Nothing and no one stopped Aimee from succeeding in life and doing things her way. If she wanted to move to South Philly and support an entire house for herself on her own, she did. If she wanted to pig out at Taco Bell at 2AM after her best friend’s wedding, she wouldn’t even flinch at the idea. No one rained on her parade and she always continued to live life like it was golden despite whatever obstacle laid before her. She was a force to reckon with, so motivated and fearless. No matter what she did, Aimee always did it wholeheartedly because she wanted to.

And when it came to love, she loved tremendously. From her sisters & Nana to her dearest friends from all across the world, Aimee adored all those around her. Day or night, you could always count on Aimee to be the one there if you need a good laugh or just a shoulder to lean on. She was always there for you; she cherished all her relationships. She held those close to her in her heart and she was never afraid to show you love. In your darkest moments or in your brightest times, Aimee was the person you wanted to share your life with because she would love & support you, accept you for who you are. Through anything & everything, her unbroken chain of love for each individual she cared for was inspiring. This untainted, unlimited and unparalleled love is something she embodied.

In her 26 years, Aimee Jo lived life to the fullest every single day with mesmerizing confidence. This undying energy and selfless compassion that Aimee had are qualities to take to heart, to embrace in life. God has granted this sweet angel into our lives for us to learn and to appreciate the beauty in others and the greatness the world has to offer. It is time for Aimee to take her place back where she belongs and though it’s untimely and trying on the heart, it’s a moment of clarity to seize the love around you, to value those things important to you, and to welcome in optimism and life’s mysteries. As we celebrate Aimee’s life, the realization sets in that you can paint the world whatever color you want because you’re happy for this day and you’re ready to travel down that road of life. You can schedule few pit stops and detours along the way to add some bursts of surprise and excitement on the journey. You don’t look back, but you always look to the future. Aimee lived life just like this and she will continue to live on in our hearts. The life celebration of Aimee Jo will be open to all at the Water’s Community Worship Center, 274 Delsea Drive, Washington Twp. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Water’s Community Worship Center, and her Services 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
